Exercise (it's my mental get away), reading (fiction at the moment), Bible Study, hearing my kids read to me, leading children's worship at church, gardening (I'm not fond of the work involved but get thrilled to see the the final product of my labor), board games/cards, trying new recipes from Light and Tasty (my favorite magazine). I used to like to scrapbook but am 3 years behind, so it feels like more of a stress to me now.
This is a hard one for me...I'm not sure.
Currently on my iPod: David Crowder Band, Jeremy Camp, Steven Curtis Chapman, Nicole C. Mullen, Brad Paisley. I listen to LOTS of my kids' music too, like Tobymac, News Boys, VBS~Avalanche Ranch, 2nd Chapter of Acts~The Roar of Love (A Musical Journey into the Wonder of C.S. Lewis' Narnia~My daughter Grace LOVES those books!), Christmas Tunes~that CD drives me batty...no wonder I dislike Christmas music so much!
All time favorite: Out of Africa! (I know...wierd but I love the scenery and Merle Strepe). Old English style movies like Pride & Prejudice (I love the older 6 video set the best), Sense and Sensibility, etc.
Ace of Cakes, 30 Minute Meals~Rachel Ray, The Apprentice, John & Kate Plus 8 (but I have to admit that if I've had a bad day with my kids, I cannot watch that show. It makes me feel like a "bad" mom, because Kate is so amazing (her husband is too)! Nanny 911 (that show makes me feel like the world's greatest mom!)
The Bible (duh), Christian Fiction~My recent favorite "The Last Sin Eater" by Francine Rivers. I think it is my favorite fiction book ever. I also love biographies of people who have done amazing things that inspire me. I love reading John Courson's Bible Commentary...He has amazing life applicational insight into the Bible, things I could never see on my own. I like anything by Beth Moore and Elizabeth George. I like to read parenting books to get tips...my favorite is "Creative Correction" by Lisa Whelchel.
Of course...Jesus Christ...all He went through for me personally, I cannot even express my gratitude. He has carried me through some hard trials and reassurred me by His Word..."For I know the thoughts that I think towards you, thoughts of peace and not of evil, to give you a future and a HOPE" Jermiah 29:11-13. My husband (he is the most strong, patient, loving person I know. I can't even describe how much he has taught and healed me as I've watched him be a daddy to his two daughers. He's exceeded my expectations of what kind of Dad I wanted for our girls. He is a BLAST too...always making us all laugh our socks off!). My mom (she is so supportive of my life choices and always has my back).
