Sometimes you'll catch him singing straight from the piano, sometimes performing a more elaborate set with his band. At all sorts of settings - colleges, malls, bars, Arnold tries his best in delivering straight-to-the-point music with strong lyrical meaning in Cantonese, his own mother tongue. After limited success offering tunes as a songwriter for mainstream artists in Hong Kong, Arnold turned indie and moved onto the internet platform, performing his own songs, and recording them in his bedroom for download at mp3.com since 2000. Through mp3.com he released "Raindance", his first album. Subsequently came his sophomore release "Fast Pain" in 2002.
In 2003, Arnold signed in with 89268 , an indie label in Hong Kong, after appearing in the "No War Peace on Earth" compilation. At the end of the year he released the acoustic project "Hardwood," blending elements including folk rock, jazz and even Chinese instruments. After "Hardwood", Arnold appeared on 89268 compilations "Come out and play" (2004) and "The 5th Element: Stop Terrorism" (2005). In 2005, Arnold teamed up with all 89268 bands and artists for a high-profile performance in the Hong Kong Arts Festival that paid tribute to local indies. In 2006, Arnold has relocated to Geneva, Switzerland to pursue his career in international development. Prior to his departure, he has played a farewell gig with his fellow bandmates at Lab Yellow, the new hub of 89268.Arnold currently continues to create music at his own relaxed pace.Visit also:
