Ekanan first laid in hands on a drum back in the 90's when he was playing more rock music. It wasn't till later that his music taste changed tempo to house music. After quit an indie rock band name "SONIA" in 1999 which is he a drummer of a band, with a passion in music, but the beat still goes on.
Among heavy hard hitting trance in Koh Phangan (Fullmoon party) and the other Island in Thailand. Lanta Island ,Krabi seem to be the only island that going to a difference way. Dj Ekanan started a career with a residency at Ibark club 2001 – 2004 (a name come from Krabi backward) set on one of the most beautiful Thai Island… freshest, funkiest and most unique club venue on that time. A Funky house seems to be his first impression of house music with a subliminal style. A funky bassline and a female back ground vocal add with a groovy twist and a disco dub, blended with pumping beat and percussive sound had been always rocking the crowed every night for 3 years. He's also played along side with Dj's from all over the world that visited this amazing club such as : Alex Sabbatical (UK, Planet Sabbatical, Shafunkers Records, Strictly Rhythm 2) Gareth Lloyed (UK, Sankeys, MOS, Praque) Dan Daw ( UK,Back to Basics, Renaissance) Dj Bubbles (Dublin Island, POD) Pete Thornton (UK, Shefieid,Gatecrasher) Rick Jay (Zurich, club liquid) Paul Jay (UK, Slinkey) Galactic Soul (Thai,Voodoo records) and many more.
As a DJ, Ekanan views his sets as an interpretation of what a clubber wishes to hear, good sounds for good times. At present his sound is a mix of funky vocal tunes, right through to the deep tougher twisted electro house. And whilst it may be early days, Ekanan has a vision of the type of DJ he wishes to become and feels he is well on course to becoming a big name Dj. After spining house music to the islander…. In 2004, he's back to his home town, a city of angle "Bangkok" with 2 record bags and a hope to play in the best club in town. And not for long, 6 mouths later he joined a most talked about venue in and around Asia." Bed Supperclub."(2005 – 2006),( www.bedsupperclub.com )Among many international Dj's at Bed. He's a "first local Dj ever"… residency at Bed (bar side). Dj Ekanan has a reputation for playing acclomplished sets and giving his all during his performance. He has already made a name for himself at Bed pulling together a great crowd and creating an electric atmosphere, whether it be warming up the crowd for Fred Jungo of working the club into a frenzie on his own night. He's play a "Think Pink" night (gay night) with Dj Fred Jungo. Apparently, his music seems to hit gay people with "funky pumping disco electro house" Though he is maybe new to the DJ world as artists they have always had a great passion for the music and have always felt the love on the dance floor, this is never more present then in their continued support as clubbers for the scene. He's truly believes he can reproduce this same feeling to pass on to the next generation of Bangkok clubbers through his style and technique.
The boy has a wide range of tastes and can often be found to bringing the sounds from funky,minimal, electro, deep, tribal, disco dub to pumping house to the dance floor and also edit and produce the tracks to make his own unique sound. As a DJ, doesn't really a hobby or a job for him. It's more like a passion, feeling, emotion, art to put the right track at the right time with a superb mixing.....
