About Me

2007 brought a lot of life learning lessons good and bad. I am putting being a diva at the end of my daily responsibilities. I am focused on preparing my mind, body, finances, and spirituality for whatever is meant for me. My 2007 experiences, led me to realize that I had to be thankful and give God all the praises for bringing from where I was, giving me all the sisters I ever could want through Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority Inc., blessing me with a home, watching over me during sickness and surgery, blessing me with perseverance, determination, and faith, and most of all sending many obstacles my way. I don’t have regrets NO MORE! I thank God everyday for my trials, tribulations, and immature decisions. It has helped me get closer to Him. My God is good! I feel I have been placed in a brighter light for 2008. I have been led in a new direction where people, opportunities, and blessings will be abundant. And for that...I will do my best to use what has been provided as a guide into my future. My life is under new management! I no longer deal with what sounds good. I deal with ACTIONS. No man, woman, critic sizing remarks, or false praises will lead my journey no more. If you think its just words, wait till you see my new swagger, the way I hold my head, and the way I handle this world. I am forever thankful! So, if you are hear to judge based on the old things or can’t get with "CHANGE"..... Please do not visit this page. Music:

I love most R & B. Mary J. Blige and K. Cole are my favorites right now. It may sound crazy, but I love the Tyler Perry movie and play sounbdtracks!

Movies:

Throw Back I know but, I love the Color Purple. I enjoy the Tyler Perry plays and movies, and most movies that represent real things that go on in real every day life.

Television:

I enjoy shows like The First 48, Cold Case Files, Forensic Files, Unsolved Mysteries, etc. My favorite TV show is Girlfriends and Hell Date, for now.

Books:

I dont read many books anymore. After graduate school, I kind of lost the urge to read to many books but I do find time to read some magazines.

Heroes:

My grandmother, Ms. Augusta Kerry, without her love, support, and pressuring me to be all that I could, I would have been lost, R.I.P Gussie! My dad Milton Alexander who always has beleived that his baby girl could do anything, as a child and as an adult. My girl Raysha, who is gone for a minute but is still holding it down and being the soldier she is. My best friend Christie who had a kidney transplant and STILL graduated from college earlier this year. Christie' s mom Barbara, who gave my friend life again by giving her one of her kidneys. Next, MYSELF! I am my own hero because I followed my grandmother and fathers advice and made myself the young, educated, successful, mother, and woman I am today. If nothing else, maybe the people that want to hate and judge me can appreciate the fact that I am a young black woman trying to get it! I am sorry I forgot one of the biggest heroes ever! My neice, who is also my child in a way, Ahmyah. That is my baby! When doctors and people said let her go she wouldn't make it, we prayed and got the help she needed and now she's 2 years old! My prayers and her strength to live keeps her with us to this day! She is beautiful and I still pray every day that she will live a full life with our family. She continues to amaze me on a daily basis. I also want to include my heroes as being the people who helped and continue to help me with Ahmyah and encourages me when I'm down. Those people are: Mom and Dad, all of my family from New Orleans, Gussie,Helen, Lana, Haley, Andrew, Harrison County Child Developement Staff, Dr. Budd, Barbara, Raysha,Xavier,Johnathan, Brandy and Jaden, Ms. Frankie, and Danielle. Ya'll are my heroes because ya'll beleive in my baby just as much as I do. Thank you for the luv and all that you do! And last but not least, my hero is God. He gives me,the people that are closest to me, and even the ones that I have yet to be a part of their lives the strength and power to wake up every morning and celebrate another day. God has blessed me to have a beautiful family that loves and supports me, freinds that look up to me and lean on me every day, a Man who beleives in me and doesn't let his past or mine interfere with the blessings we will get, and he also blessed me with everything spiritually, emotionally, and financially I needed to take my neice in and raise her along with my children. Thank You everybody! Ya'll are my heroes!
