Tommy Anton

About Me

Feedbag recording artist Tommy Anton empowers audiences with his unique style of mystical folk-pop. His debut CD features guest musicians Leigh Foxx (Blondie, Patti Smith, Cyndi Lauper) on bass and Pat Mastelotto (King Crimson, XTC, Mr. Mister) on drums. Although his CD has enjoyed airplay across the country, it is his live performances with wife Abby on keyboards and vocals that have garnered him a growing fanbase.
Anton has played with national and international touring acts, including Shannon McNally, Teitur, the Zen Tricksters, and Arthur Brown. He has also played rhythm for New Jersey artists April Smith, Woodfish, Jon Caspi, Michael Ferrentino, Bobby Strange and the Josh Zandman Trio. Recent performance highlights include Solfest, Burning Man, the Natural Building Colloquium, Tree of Life Rejuvenation Center, as well as the Raw Spirit Festival.
Originally from Austin, Texas, Anton is a two time Asbury Music Award nominee and a favorite on the local scene, as well as an active coast-to-coast touring artist. A six-year 100% organic, raw foodist, Tommy often bicycles to shows, trailer and equipment in tow.
LATEST QUOTES:
"...breathtaking performance...great vibe...he's got that rare sound that seems to have faded in today's pop-driven world...masterful lyrics...Anton's vocals sparkle throughout..." -Kristen Pasculli, DiscoveringArtists.com
"[The songs] have a 'classic' vibe to them as if the melodies were passed down or born in your subconscious. Blending folk music with rock and roll and New Age like lyrics, his songs are immediately catchy." -Gary Wien, award winning music journalist and publisher of Upstage Magazine
"You'll want to drink up Anton's songs, particularly the uplifting harmonics of 'Hollow Bamboo', which turns eternal flow into soul candy. It can be listened to over and over again like a 'Hey Jude' for the 21st century." -Bob Makin, Gannett New Jersey
*****(Five Stars) "This CD will leave you wanting more. Tommy's music is mezmerizing, well crafted and thought provoking." Reviewer: Capt Raymo
*****(Five Stars) "Both mellow and energetic, Anton's music is simple, raw, and wonderfully "shines through." After seeing him perform in Red Bank, NJ, I'm glad to have persued his music further. Highly underrated." Reviewer: Paige Glotzer
"It was truly our pleasure having you perform on Saturday. Everyone who attended the event really enjoyed your wonderful music. Actually, I believe you uplifted the event's spirit to a new level. Thanks so much!" - Helen Aquino, Director--> Brahma Yoga Annual Benefit for Clean Ocean Action
