CHAMPIONS OF SOUND

Champions of Sound began as a 4 piece, SergioVega on guitar and Lead Vocals, Chris Traynor on Lead Guitar and Backing vocals, Charlie Walker on Drums and Sibyl Buck on Bass and Backing Vocals. Fom there many turns were taken, and the band was everything from an 11 piece collective to a 2 piece Disko-Rok performance. The first release was a gatefold 7 inch E.P., which Bubblecore Records distributed in a small run. That was recorded in 2000 with Sergio, Chris and Sibyl. Most drums tracks were done on the MPC2000, who would go on to become a permanent member of the band! In 2004 a 12 track LP was completed, called Champion Love. It was primarily the work of Sergio and Sibyl, with killer tracks from Chris on almost all songs, and various friends scattered all over the record. Therre are live drums along with the MPC on most tracks, creating a really balanced blend of electronic and organic. Just about every musical friend around put in their 2 cents. Unfortunately the record never saw the light of day, though some tracks can be heard here on this site.
