Like Gods was formed in May of 2006 under the name "Destroyer" The bands original and present line-up consists of vocalist Chris Collins, guitarists Nate Yeager and Simon Weisner, bassist Adam Rutt, and drummer Dan Rutt. The band recorded a self-titled cd in November of 2006. In June of 2007, Weisner left the band and Destroyer changed their name to Like Gods. During the fall of 2007, Like Gods recorded another cd as a four-piece. Simon rejoined the band early December of 2008.
Like Gods delivers hard-hitting, in your face drums, heavy and raw guitar riffs, intense slap-bass, and brutal, growling vocals. Old songs, such as "The Struggle" and "I Won't Let You" display the band's "don't give a shit" attitude, throwing in chanting back-up vocals, fast-paced drumming, and dual guitar solos. Newer songs like "I Bleed" (yet to be recorded) and "Why" show the bands more heavy, agressive side, using low tuning and vocals with more rawness and depth.
