Groovemaster

Formed in 1988, Groovemaster has been consistenly pleasing audiences all over Ohio with their brand of root style and dance-hall reggae. Groovemaster has appeared before standing room only crowds in clubs such as Howard's Club H and Easy Street in Bowling Green, Ohio; Skankland in Columbus, Splash and the Empire Ballroom in Cleveland, Mother's Junction in Kent, Ohio; Frankie's in Toledo, and was the favored reggae band at Shooters Waterfront Cafe in Toledo. They performed as the headliner for a concert organized by Amnesty International, and opened Toledo's first reggae Rally By the River with First Light of Cleveland. Groovemaster also performed as the opening act for Ras Michael and the Sons of Negus, Mikey Dread and twice were the opening act for the internationally acclaimed Epic recording artists Ipso Facto, and on two occasions opened for Mango recording artists Identity at the Bijou theater in Toledo. They were also the opening act of The Wailers at the Bijou. Groovemaster has appeared at colleges such as the University of Toledo, Bowling Green State University, Ohio University, Ohio Weslyan, Defiance College, the Medical College of Ohio and the University of Toledo School of Law. Sunsplashes such as Wyandot Lake in Columbus, Ohio and the 1993 Michigan Sunsplash sponsored by Reggae Ambassadors Worldwide have featured Groovemaster on the lineup. Groovemaster aslo continues to be one of the top drawing acts within the Toledo Federation of Musicians Local 15-286. There is something for everyone in the roots, dance-hall, and raggamuffin styles the members bring into their performances.
