BIOGRAPHY:
Hailing from Brownsville Brooklyn, New York, one of the most infamous neighborhoods in America comes a new voice! Dona began creating music at the tender age of 9 inspired by the harsh realities of the ghetto. Dona spent endless time painting a portrait of her surroundings in her music! Not long after her talent was discovered by her brother who later on encouraged her to let the world hear what she once kept to herself, Dona gained confidence from the response she recieved from peers and fellow aspiring mc's in the streets and at local talent shows. Dona quickly learned a lesson in humility, her first talent show didnt go over as smoothly as the street ciphers she was accustomed to doing. Words that onced flowed like water dried up in the heat of the moment. Leaving her thirsty for another opportunity to prove herself in front of familar faces just weeks after the melt down she won first place in the talent show (taking that trophy home felt like giving birth, painful yet rewarding). From that day on Dona knew music was her calling. Dona knew performing in ciphers and talent shows had its limits and decided it was best to move on to the next level recording her own music. In love with developing her craft spending countless days in the studio Dona learned how to create bars and hooks( it never felt like work when I was having so much fun. I was proud of myself I felt blessed knowing my purpose in life) Dona always dreamed of being a rap star but didnt realize how soon she would have the oppourtunity to ink her first contract. on June 06 2003 she signed a contract with legal Hustle Records. On May 25, 2004 Dona was featured on 5 songs including the intro on the legal Hustle album (The Bond, Hoody, Personified, Respect Me, The Machine) "It was a great oppourtunity for me, I learned what it takes to put a album together." With the Legal Hustle album She perform shows in NYC also in Spain. "Now I am very proud to say that I have overcome many obstacles in my life! Today I am more involved with the business aspect of my career. I put out my own mixtape titled A.S.A.P. I did the art work, the manufacturing, and the selling. Cds were sold out of my personal pocket book. I consider it a success because so many people supported my movement! This has inspired me to conquer much more in the future. Everything I have acomplish so far is just a stepping stone! This is only the beginning of my career!!"
