My passion has always been the written word. I love to read everything I can get my hands on, and I also love to write myself. Have been doing it forever. It's a good thing that I don't care if I make money on it or not...because I'll let you guess what my monetary gain has been off this so far...I am a bona fide music/movies geek. Music:
Music is second only to books for me. I'll give just about anything a try. Favorite bands/artists: PINK FLOYD, The Doors, Nine Inch Nails, Primus, Stevie Ray Vaughan and Double Trouble, Mozart, Simon and Garfunkel,Rammstein, The Grateful Dead, Coltrane, Prince, Miles Davis, Beethoven, Phish, Janis Joplin, Johnny Cash, Morphine, and the list goes on for so long that I'm boring myself.
Movies:
My taste in movies is about as widespread as my music taste. Horror flicks (more suspense than gore, if you please) Comedies, both new and old--and by old I mean 30's and 40's for you young 'uns who were 10 when you discovered the genius that was Chris Farley. My favorite actors are: Jack Nicholson, Audrey Hepburn, John Malkovich, Katharine Hepburn, Sir Anthony Hopkins, Cary Grant, Harrison Ford, Bette Davis, Etc. Etc. Etc. I am not a chick flick kind of girl. I love SciFi. I think Bladerunner and Alien are two of the best damn movies ever made. Basically, I'm looking for a movie that will take me away from reality for a while. Favorites? Braveheart, Star Wars, Wait Until Dark, The Shining, Clerks--Kevin Smith is a minor god--The Princess Bride, Amadeus, His Girl Friday, Tommy Boy, Dodgeball, The Silence of the Lambs, Quentin Tarantino--you pick it, I love it--The Crow, and again...the list goes on and on. Last but not least: I think Woody Allen is a hack and full of endless amounts of douche. Except Annie Hall. That was OK.
Television:
Rescue Me is my current addiction. I've loved the work of Denis Leary for many years, and this is definitely his finest acting. Otherwise, the Simpsons, Family Guy, Frasier, History Channel, Discovery Channel, and movie channels. That's right. Bona Fide Geek.
