Capitol Hill is a six piece live hip hop band out of Providence Rhode Island. Recently they have opened for such acts as JURASSIC 5, SHOOTYZ GROOVE, AKROBTIK (ONE HALF OF THE PERCEPTIONISTS), FEAR NUTTIN BAND, THE PRESS PROJECT, OTHERWISE, AND JARED CAMPBELL. Unlike typical hip hop where a DJ lays down a sample, Capitol Hill seeks to push the boundaries of what hip hop can accomplish. The band provides either a sample, or their interpretation of a song, or a totally original background, as the Emcees spit. Inspired by The Roots and the various musical backgrounds of each member, Capitol Hill samples jazz, rock, funk, and classic hip hop beats. In 2007 they completed an east coast tour spanning from MA to PA. Each stop marked a new adventure for the band.
