About Me

Having grown up in Los Gatos, at the edge of what's now known as Silicone Valley, I spent most of my life in pre-Schwarzenegger California, much of it in San Francisco. Now living since 15 years in Switzerland, composing for films, theatre, and dance. I also work as a film and television editor, and make films, such as the documentaries about Shostakovich and the music of Bahia, Brazil. -------- --------New projects for 2009: Currently composing for a documentary about Balinese culture & ceremonies by director Basil Gelpke ("Oil Crash"), and functioning as Music Consultant. Directing & editing a film about the Rose d'Or Festival (for the 3rd year) in Lucerne, Switzerland. Music for a stage version of "Alice in Wonderland" at the Stadttheater Chur, directed by Seraina Maria Sievi. Music for a series on Swiss TV about architecture. ------------- Last year: Music Direction & Arrangement for a musical stage version of Goethe's "Faust", with Daniel Rohr, performances in Switzerland, Germany & Lichtenstein. Music for numerous films for Swiss TV and Internet, among them documentaries on Zürich Photographer Hans Danuser (Director: Barbara Seiler) , and one on French artist Hélène Martin (Director: Stephan Brülhart). -------- --------Here is a video from a Brecht/Weill/Eisler project I was involved with in the 90s, (stumbled upon by chance on youtube). this with the singer Amy Fairweather. The song is "Matrosen Tango", from the play "Happy End". Mostly we played in rowdy San Francisco bars, which were still very smoky at that time.
