About Me

'Tattoos were a long way from becoming fashionable; yet Marc's left arm was covered from shoulder to wrist with swirls of colorful ink. His jet black hair stuck out in all directions and, dozens of piercings festooned every orifice, and aperture. Still, for all his wild looks in a time that even stovepipe pants were considered extreme, it was Marc's personality that stood out. Charisma oozed from him like sweat from a miner, & after just one look into his colbalt blue eyes, you were ready to sign papers entitling him to one of your kidneys. Though Marc was a talented artist, I believed he had missed his true calling as a professional con man.'Excerpt from Chris Walter's, 'I Was a Punk Before YOU Were a Punk.'MARC RUDE did a multitude of album, and CD covers, t-shirts, logos, posters, and everything one can possibly imagine to promote R&R, (so many that they can't be all be remembered, but I will give it my best shot)...BATTALIAN of SAINTS, LEGAL WEAPON, TEX, & the HORSEHEADS, THE MISFIT's, MURPHY's LAW, ELECTRIC FRANKENSTEIN, GUNS, & ROSES, HIRAX, LA GUNS, SONIC 13, BAD RELIGION, THE OFFSPRING, THE RINGLING SISTERS, THE LAME FLAMES, BAD BRAINS, THE LITTLE KINGS, MURDER/SUICIDE PACT, JEFF DAHL, SONNY VINCENT, and many, many more. (If I've forgotten anyone please feel free to remind me, and I will add them to the list). BLAG DALIA from THE DWARVES, and, Marc did the book 'ARMED TO THE TEETH W/ LIPSTICK.' Blag wrote the text, and Marc, of coarse did all of the artwork which he was very pleased with as he was given complete artistic freedom in his choices of subject matter and content.Marc passed away on March 14th, 2002 at 5:06 AM in Las Vegas, Nevada from complications due to a mispent youth, not due to any recent drug, or alcohol use/abuse as so many busy bodies would have you believe...(chitter chatter, blah, blah, blah)...Marc was also a star of stage and screen. 'DUDES' is one of his many movies, (and a fine piece of cinematrography it is)! He played Sonny the biker. And, let's not forget his fine performance in Penelope Speris' 'DECLINE of WESTERN CIVILIZATION.' Not to mention his many television appearences, and his music video work...Who can forget Marc expressing himself through the dance in PRINCE's, 'RASPBERRY BERET'? Not to mention his starring role in 'SUPERIOR COURT' where he played an insane Rocker, (it was a stretch, but Marc was an actor, a professional)!Since he couldn't play guitar, or sing, (his words, not mine) he played harmonica in a band called, 'DEMOLITION GORE GALORE,' but, as we all know, his true love was his art! Marc's career as an illustrator, and tattoo artist spanned over 30 years. His work is as popular today, if not more so than it was when he was alive. Let's hope that he's aware of the strong influence he has had on so many of the young artists of today. He would be pleased to know that he has lead so many incredibly talented, young artists down the road to so many successful, and fulfilling careers. If, by chance he is aware of his influence then we can all rest assured that he truely is resting in peace.Marc was a member of 'THE LOYAL ORDER OF THE WATER BUFFALO,' an exclusive men's club in Hollywood, California in which he held the highly esteemed title of 'Pie Eating Champion.' I doubt if his record breaking pie consumption, & pie eating talents have been outdone even today!MARC RUDE was survived by his wife; LYN, his only son LORAN RUDE, and his niece ELAINE HOFFMAN. We miss you dearly.I edited my profile with Thomas' Myspace Editor V4.4
