Ryan Mckinney aka Young Slim was born in San Bernardino California outside of Los Angeles. When saying southern California you cant say it with out saying Young Slim who stayed in project in Rialto, C.A. West side Compton and Southeast San Diego Raised in a huge family which concluded 5 brothers and 5 sisters by the same mother and farther and himself it was nothing but entertainment. At the age of 10 Slim was making beats with his mouth and spiting rhymes often performing at local talent shows as his older brothers would freestyle? Grown up in a household where his parents would be jamming oldie but goodies everyone from the moments to parliament slim was bound to find his swag and love music. His farther often played the guitar and wanted slim to learn but Slim seen the passion for gangsta rap in which he would soon turn to. “Growing up I listen to Dj Quick, Dre. Dre, Easy- E, Snoop Dog, Celley cell, Mac 10, biggie, E-40, playa Hamm, Kurpt and Dazz.†says Slim responding about his infusions. By the age 0f thirteen Slim was out hangin with his older brother Brad aka Nutty loc and Cory aka C-note who had moved to the west side of Compton with his aunt. Slim visited his brothers often who where out on the streets selling drugs and on the streets gangbangin by the age slim turned 17 he had seen both of his brother facing murder charges and new he was on step away from being lock away. “When I seen my brothers locked up it sent me a message that anything you do can be hold against you and that’s always something my parents preached to us I felt I was blessed to have both parents in the house because most people I grew up around didn’t have that guidance†says Slim. So he turned to his music to tell his life struggles and everything he seen. Slim formed a group with J- Deezy called the maulato boyz which also made some noise in San Diego area. Now at age twenty three Slim quest to get signed is buzz in with his hit song Flossin which debut on “get money†mix tape which sold 2,000 units Slim is hungry more then ever and is letting people here his name. “I have been doing shows “Slim says “from Los Angeles down to San Diego all the way to St. Louis, Missouri. I see the people feeling it my music is different from everyone out there it’s that west coast pimp shit with a little of that St. Louis swag I got from my parents. Slim say.
