Jimmy Carlisle’s music career started in Decatur Georgia in 1994 when Jimmy (Popa Doc) and three friends created the group Down by Loyalty (DBL). The four would write lyrics and rap endlessly and quickly the chemistry grew. The group, DBL performed at various local clubs and talent shows as well as the Legion of Doom Record Pool at club Masquerade in Atlanta Georgia.
DBL was featured on the 2001 Truly Amazing (Tazz) album “Hated with Respectâ€.Summer of 2006 Jimmy began working with the vocal quartet Jagged Edge. Jimmy signed to Jagged's 581 Muzik Groupe label; changed his stage name to Jimmy 2Tymes and immediately started working on his Project. He quickly began recording a mixtape entitled "Decatur Niggaz," which featured appearances by Big Duke and Other 581 MG artist. The mixtape was rotated in the local strip clubs in the EastSide. Following that, 2Tymes released the first single a strip club anthem, "Get Low", featuring Bun B and Decatur Black. His next single, "I Grind," was the focus of the summer 2007. For the ladies 2Tymes is featured on a JAGGED EDGE R&B song, "LET HER GO’. 2Tymes’ collection definitely touches on the classic hood tales, his clever word play and cool laid back swag on the verses translates a very believable story. Jimmy 2Tymes already has a great team behind him which places him in a kinetic position to take over the Hip Hop Game as we know it. But we all know that although some strike it big overnight, most of us have to GRIND IT OUT... SO he has stepped up to the plate ready to GRIND.After his release from Jagged’s 581 Muzik Groupe 2Tymes began work on his current single “Ridin High†featuring Young Dro which gained local attention in the fall of 2008 when the single won for eight days on 107.9 Dirty Boys show which gained him the recognition as a retired Battle Ground Champion.2Tymes’ mix tape “Tha Appetizer†hosted by DJ Bobby Black (Superfriends) hit the streets in 2008 and can be purchased on Best Buy.com and other music online retailers.2Tymes was introduced to The House of Blues in Las Vegas for New Year’s Eve 2008 when he opened the show for AKON. 2Tymes performed his single “Ridin High†and two other songs from his latest project.2Tymes has been seen around town participating in various community outreach and back to school projects donating school supplies and clothing.
