Jake Touzel

Jake Touzel began writing music at an early age, on his own as a solo artist as well as in several different bands. It wasn't long before he found his true calling and decided to go completely on his own, with the fresh style he calls "new age folk". Inspired by the likes of Dallas Green, Jeff Buckley and Anathema he began writing his own original songs. Within a year he had completed a full set-list worth of material and took his performance to the people. By late 2006 he debuted his solo material to a modest crowd at the Fireside Cafe in Surrey, British Columbia. The word soon spread and not long after Jake Touzel had been recruited to the ranks of Coquitlam based Metaltown Productions. During his short run with the promotion company his popularity grew and the people began to take notice. Deciding to branch out more within his local scene, Touzel created his own promotion company called Flat String Music. With help from Cody Blanchard he now had an outlet to manage and promote himself, as well as other up-and-coming B.C. talent. While Flat String music got into full swing Touzel also began the process of recording his first EP titled, "Alive". The EP, which consists of 5 heartfelt tracks is set for an early summer 2008 release. There are also talks of future tours that will take Jake throughout B.C. to further expand his already growing fan-base. Take notice now because before long, Jake Touzel's own unique brand of new age folk and pop fusion will be taking over the airwaves, and the globe.
