About Me

A BRIEF HISTORYIn the early days of the year 2000, a band that would go on to change the musical landscape of Britain, if not the world, emerged from the rubble of the late 90s. Andrew Maguire (rhythm guitar), Michael Edmunds (bass guitar & drums) and Gavin Orr (lead guitar) decided that they alone could make a difference and embarked on the long and often dangerously drug-riddled road to success. The trio formed a band called The Junglebunnies but before long they changed the name of the outfit to Vale. This was soon changed to Ammego, an anagram of the initials of each member. The band then changed their name to The Shambles though, after a lengthy court case, another 'band' won the rights to that name and our heroes have since reverted to Ammego. The band also have a long-running feud with an extremely un-talented band called 'Vale Mark II'. Named after one of Ammego's former names, they have for a long time sought to achieve the same kind of artistic and critical success as Ammego but to no avail. In the early days, Andrew and Michael entered a prolific period of song writing. During this period the duo wrote many of the band's classics such as Mazy Rain, Moustachio and Requiem to the Departed (I loved you best when you were on your knees).Other songs followed and soon the band had garnered both huge critical acclaim and a massive underground following.
