Kar-Lethal Brigante was born Karim Ali Howard in 1983 in the drug infested high murder rate area of South West Philly. He grew up around hustlers, extortionists, murderers & organized crime figures in his own household and throughout his neighborhood. In fear that Kar-Lethal would become a product of his environment, his mother moved him and his two siblings to the uptown area of Philadelphia where there was a better school district and a lower crime rate. It was here where Kar-Lethal began to grow as a rapper. He would write & recite these violent gangsta tales, but with such vividness and emotion that youd swear you were watching an Al Pacino flick.
It wasnt long before Kar-Lethal was discovered by an up & coming rapper/producer from the area with his own studio name Suspens. Suspens was blown away by what he thought was this kids imagination and immediately signed him to a production deal; positive he could develop Kar-Lethal into the biggest gangsta rapper since Biggie Smalls. Kar-Lethal was also noticed by other MCs in the area such as Larsiny who were signed to Ruff Ryders at the time & Cassidy now of J-Records. Kar-Lethal spent his days in the studio with Suspens building a chemistry as artist and producer as they worked on his first album as well as other projects such as Desperados & S.R. All Stars. Kar-Lethal spent his nights with Larsiny & Cassidy at nightclubs, venues & other studios building a name for himself as an unchallengable young gangsta rapper who was real & from the streets.
Then boom!!! in the middle of his development stage news headlines read: 18 year old rapper busted in Pennslvania with kingpin charges. Drugs, guns, $96,000 in a safe & trucks with TVs and banging systems were all confiscated and Kar-Lethal was placed behind bars. Seems this rapper had such emotion and conviction because he not only grew-up around this he became it. Thanks to good lawyers & lot of technicalities what would have been a ten-year bid turned into two. This was a wake-up call for Kar-Lethal. He knew he fucked up big time. He knew as talented as he was, if he had been patient he could have got all that and then some without it getting taken and him getting locked up.
Early summer 2004, Kar-Lethal came home focused, ready and willing with 10 books of songs & verses, his style mastered, a body like 50 Cent & ready to take over the rap game. He moved into an apartment under the studio, so he literally lives in the studio. He has completed his mixtape I Want In hosted by DJ Irie: Miamis & the Hit Mens ..1 DJ. Cuts are provided by Phillys ..1 DJ Wax Spinner which is presently being circulated nationwide. It also features Cassidy, Larsiny & Suspens. He has also completed his second mixtape The Streets Need This. Once again cuts are provided by Wax Spinner and this time its hosted by TouchTone The Worlds ..1 Blind DJ. The Streets Need This is presently being circulated in Philly and all surrounding areas. Once you here them Im sure youll agree that they are two of the hottest mixtapes to hit the streets.Kar-Lethal has finished his freshman album The Son of a Boss which is scheduled to hit to stores February 2007. Kar-Lethal has opened for Cassidy, Styles P & Akon, Lil Kim & Swiss Beats. He headlined at Sylvies & took over Club Flow in Philly. His debut single All the Money in the World was serviced to all college DJs nationwide and did well on the college charts. The B-Side Hey Mommie is the ..1 requested song at Wilkes-Barre University earning him the spot to headline at RhymeFest 06 at the Waterfront on February 19th. The bonus track Ways of a Pimp has proven to be a hit in the clubs in all our targeted areas. In fact it has been .. 3 in Orlando for two months now. As a result he will be performing live at three nightclubs there including The Blue Room on March 12th. Kar-Lethal will also be performing live and making radio appearances in Miami on Memorial Day weekend. His singles have been picked by top DJs all over the country, with whom his manager MiiMii has built strong relationships with to assure airplay. Kar-Lethal was inspired by rappers such as Kool G Rap, Jay Z & The Lox. Although inspired by these rappers Kar-Lethal has his own original style and a deep heavy voice that will soon be loved as much as Biggies & Pacs. Kar-Lethal is all of these current gangsta rappers worst nightmare.
