Driving vocals, energetic stage presence and an ability to tailor her sets to a wide variety of audiences have caused this young artist to be received by audiences and venues alike. Her R&B Fusion style, which incorporates jazz, soul, hiphop and acoustic pop/rock influences has found a cross-genre, cross-generational and multi-ethnic audience to call home. Not to mention she has worked with musicians who tour both nationally and internationally with known performers such as Roberta Flack, Johnny Winters, The Temptations and the late Luther Vandross, as well as many of the NYC jazz greats. Her style is all her own, but she can credit Stevie Wonder, Al Green, Gladyss Knight, Alicia Keys, Joss Stone, Lauryn Hill, and even Paul Simon as influences. Some have compared her to the aforementioned as well as Phoebe Snow and Norah Jones.
Born in Indiana, but raised in multiple ethnic communities – diversity has always found its way into Traci’s musical style, which has developed into an R&B Fusion sound. She landed in Cincinnati, OH in 1995 and began actively pursuing her passion as a singer/songwriter in 1999, at which point she began playing out at local venues. In 2003, she and her husband Richie began traveling internationally, which expanded her network and provided opportunities to travel and sing with organizations in Southeast Asia for crowds of up to 40,000. She even wrote and recorded a song, “I Will Carry You,†for Cambodian Prime Minister Hun Sen, which was also used by Foundation Life, a social welfare organization, providing assistance to underprivileged women and children in Thailand. In 2006, while based in CT, she released her first full-length CD “Greener On This Side.†Her CD Release Party drew more than 200 to local SOZO Café, a venue, which normally seats 150. As a songwriter she has a catalogue of close to 300 songs in multiple genres and was a 2007-2008 ASCAPlus Award Winner for songs from her album in the jazz and popular division. Traci’s song “Source of Life†will be on a PlaylistProductions compilation CD distributed to over 1,000 US Markets. Her band also received recognition as a 2007 Northeast Semi-finalist in the Independent Music World Series. In July 2007, she joined forces with Indie Extreme and founded her own label, Greener Music, LLC and in September she and her husband relocated to Nashville, TN. In addition, to her award-winning talents and critical acclaim, she also uses her voice to promote and support social justice issues, and is a member of Justice For Children Internationals’ artist coalition. As a singer, songwriter, and performer, she also collaborates with other musicians and is a former background vocalist for Latin, Funk-Rock Sandoval Band.
