About Me

What is there to say? I'm just a regular guy who grew up in the Ozark Mountains of Missouri. I've been preaching full time since 1985, and I'm the son of a preacher. I'm a Christian who believes that the bible means what it says, and says what it means. We moved to Lake Havasu City, March of 2006 , but spent the previous 12 1/2 years in Nebraska. It's lots greener there!

My Interests

I'm a guy with a wide variety of interests. I am very busy with my work as a Minister, my family, (I have a wonderful wife and 3 great kids!) woodworking, fixing things, and lots of other things. I love traveling, and am very interested in science (young earth, 6 day literal creation by God) and how things work. I love music,(see below), and I love my country! I think liberals in religion and politics both need to be gently shown that they are wrong. I also enjoyed deer hunting, but there aren't any deer here around Havasu, so I guess I won't be doing much of that anytime soon.

I'd like to meet:

Well, when I die, I want to meet Jesus, followed by some relatives who died before I was born. While I'm still living, it's hard to say. I like people! All different kinds of people. I don't know that I am that excited about meeting someone famous. they still are just people. They just happen to be famous.

Music:

When it comes to music, I'm eclectic. That means I like a little bit of most everything. As I write this, I'm listening to blugrass on the net, but I love rock & Roll (with a minimum of screaming) but I also love 40s big band music. I really liked Ska (with the horns) but that style lasted about 6 months, then it was gone. The O C Supertones were really good.

Movies:

I saw Pirates of the caribbean a while back, and it was fun. Plot gets a 2.9 out of 10, special effects gets a 9.4 I'm still not sure it was worth the huge price of a ticket, but I guess it just isn't the same on DVD. One of my favorite movies was We were Soldiers. First, it was based on true events. Secondly, the battle scenes were intense. The most moving part of the movie was when families were being notified about their loved ones. WOW!

Television:

We don't watch a lot of tv at our house, but when we do, it usually seems to be on one of the CSI shows.

Books:

I collect books. I have a whole shelf in my office that is old songbooks. I read everything from the Bible, to "Brain candy". (books that are all fluff, but fun.)

Heroes:

I've had numerous people I've looked up to in my life, but I have to say that the two I've most looked at as heroes are my Dad and my Uncle. My Dad started life as the son of migrant workers, and is now a professor in a bible college, as well as preaching at a church. My uncle was a Navy Medical Corpsman during WWII and landed with the Marines on Iwo Jima. How can you not look up to that?
