I took out a music page to upload some stuff I have recorded here and there. I've been kicking around Boston in different bands for about 25 years. There was a period of almost a decade when I wasn't though. I wasn't available for it. Even if I were I would've chosen not to be. It was a horrible stretch during the 90s that gave stillbirth to nothing but absolute crap. I'm no stranger to crap mind you. I've churned out some stuff that people have cut all ties with me after listening to. I'm talking about the prozac music that got airplay on corporate as well as college radio. In late 2001 I decided to stop doing the things that took up all my time and energy and began playing with a couple of friends. It was in a sub-basement on Boylston Street (the background photo of this page). With the vile aftertaste of the past years' "indie rock" in the back of my throat I went for a sound that preceded that. What started as a reuinion of my old band Vivisect quickly evolved into what became a band called BLOJOB. Although BLOJOB had many different members and names (including Spook, Screwgun, and Defrockt) it was one band. It had the same feel as a band I used to be in called Toecutter, so I was a little bummed when it went into self-destruct mode and imploded. From nothing came NOTHING. NOTHING was formed with another former member of a band we had been in called Ointment. NOTHING was the most recent travesty in a lineage rooted in Kilslug. For the last few years I've been playing with a great bunch of guys, in Night Terrors, who are extraordinary and professional musicians . Let's get it straight for the record, though. I sing, play drums, and on very rare occasions pick up a sax. I am not a musician. I don't pretend to be one. I'm a guy in a band. I'm also the proudest dad on the planet. When my daughter is able to she will tell everyone how cool and fun it is to have me as her father. If she doesn't I will bribe her to.
