Here lies sarcasm. It was lost on too many people and died. R.I.P.

About Me

Yes, I finally caved in and joined yet another organization dedicated to helping people reach out and touch someone. I'm becoming such an internet whore.Anyway, I've decided to put this together and get a bunch of people to preach at right before I give up my internet. Lovely time to do it, right?

I edited my profile with Thomas’ Myspace Editor V3.6 !

My Interests

symmetry

I'd like to meet:

the inventor of cheese

Music:

progressive rock, folk, film scores, classical music of the renaissance and 20th century

Movies:

I hate listing all these again, so: Anything that is well-made, whatever genre. I appreciate films that show genuine artistry, originality and craftmanship, whether in story, performance, or construction.

Television:

I hate TV as a rule. The whole medium (and indeed our country) is built too much on advertisements and commercialism (Paul Verhoeven made interesting points on this in Robocop).

Books:

Primarily sci-fi and fantasy. The thing I appreciate the most about writing and books is that the only constraints placed on you are those of your own imagination. The ultimate celebration of imagination is science fiction. Where else can be found such ingenuity of the mind?

Heroes:

Terry Gilliam and Gabriel Yared. Two people who had uncompromising opinions about their own work, who defended it adamantly (and quite publicly), at the detriment of their own careers in the mainstream world, and with only limited degrees of success. If more people were willing to take a stand in defense of artistry in the overpoweringly corporate world of film, there would be a greater chance of creating something genuinely beautiful.

The saying, "They don't make it like they used to" is completely true. As is "You get what you pay for." I spent the majority of Robert A. Heinlein's 100th birthday building a chest of drawers from ...

Happy Easter?

Well, not exactly.  But maybe you can have one for me.  I'm stuck with my family when I'd rather be alone. Of course, that's a problem in and of itself.  I'm withdrawing.  I can se...

Beware, I'm dangerous

It's very true.  As much as I know it's not really true, life just doesn't seem worth it at the moment.  I don't have anything to live for!  That's why I'm dangerous.  If a life-th...
