Gary and I were on NBC "The Morning Show" very early this morning.
I'd like to meet anyone who has lived an interesting life. I find most of these people didn't go to Ivy League schools, but more the School of Hard Knock-types. It's not that education isn't important, but I don't think it should define who you are. I tend to gravitate towards people who are artists, musicians, and the like. People who consider themselves to be children of the sixties and seventies with interests like kids, bicycles, skateboards, surfboards, and rock and roll. I really enjoy making films, but sometimes filmmakers aren't the easiest folks to get along with, so I'll leave them out of it. The guys in my movie and in Stacy Peralta's movies Dogtown and Z-Boys and Riding Giants, are my athletic heroes. I've met a few of them, but I'm really in awe of the guys (and girls) who broke down the barriers of exteme sports. I'll leave the football and baseball stars to the other sports fans. You know who you are.
