So, whats to say about the band Buddy LaZonga? It all started about one year ago, when Christian (guitar), Hannes (bass/vocals) and Erik (guitar) decided to play at a local band contest. This was about the time I first got in touch with this band. My name is Tobi and I play drums since I was 11 years old, kinda stopped playing when I was 14 and started again when I was 16. Well to get back to the band, Christian, who played drums in the band for a while discovered his love and excitement for the good old six string. The band needed a new drummer to fill in for the show and since Christian and I went to the same local music school and knew each other from some drum-off performances, he decided to ask me to help the band out for the show. To be honest, at first this really wasnt the kind of music I wanted to make with a band and I think it all sounded quite weird. So we kinda screwed the show at the band contest, because we hadnt played together too often to that time, but all in all, after the band contest all of the band members where like Hey, that really sounded like music what we played there. And if we look back, all of us can say that something really good started that night. The days after that show I spent lots of time thinking about this band and that the music actually wasnt that bad once a song was finished and performed. So I decided to go on with the band and to see what there was to come. A few weeks and a few band practices later Erik wasnt in the band anymore. Anyway, no hard feelings about that anymore, because it was probably the most suitable thing for the four of us. The next months, Christian, Hannes and I spent lots of time in the Buddy LaZonga Headquarter (which is a secret place in a small town where we reherce, eat, drink, play worms and create new Buddy LaZonga music and new Buddy LaZonga methods to get more famous more fast). In these following months, the three of us got to know each other way better and we figured out, that we had lots of things in common. Especially when it came to music we liked to listen to. So we created a type of music where all 3 of us could give in influences by our favourite bands. We were really satisfied with the result and it was an awesome feeling to have a music style of our own, something totally new, I really cant compare to any band I know. Playing shows with new songs was so much fun. At that time, we still played some cover-songs at the shows too, because we didnt have enough own songs and it was great to see people dance and jumping around to songs weve actually written by ourselves. Then, Christian went to France for 4 months what kind of slowed down our work with the band. Anyway, we asked Tim, who plays bass and guitars for a long time to help us out on guitars, so we could go on practising our songs and hes still with the band. Christian came back from France this summer and he returned with some great new songs. Weve got 11 songs were working on at the moment and were about to record them at a studio. So were pretty bizzy with the band at the moment. Wed like to say thank you to all of our friends and everyone who supported our band.
