About Me

Check out www.mosslipow.com , for starters... And give it a second to load... Also, check out these colorful glasses on style.com , and this interesting and informative article in USA Today ... What else about me?... Hmmm... I do a lot of things... Most people, though, know me from the line of designer eyewear I produce... Some very classic shapes...mod, retro-modern...and some other things that are completely out of the box... Fans and customers include Devo, Erykah Badu, Elton John, Mary Kate and Ashley Olsen (they're wearing my work in their book), Paul Schaffer (he wears my things on The Late Show), M.I.A., George Clinton, a fair number of gracious and lovely fashion editors, and more... Some mainstream celebrities, some non-mainstream celebrities, other people... In truth, I consider them all stars...
Really, the variety of interesting individuals who sport my stuff never ceases to amaze me...
I visited East Asia this year. I have a feature profile coming out this month in Vogue China. I spent some time in Hong Kong, and was fortunate enough to receive feature profiles in Milk and Jessica Code, which are fine fashion magazines there. The features below just came out.
If you can read Chinese, please tell me what some of this says. I really have no idea:
Forbes is pretty cool, too:
Because I don't update my page as much as I'd like, I sometimes don't get the chance to include nice fashion editorial stories that come out between updates. Here's a very nice one shot by Bruce Weber and styled by Lori Goldstein for Italian Vogue... I did all the eyewear:
I work with Patti Wilson a lot. The most recent thing I did with her came out last month in Numero. She was doing a floral print story. These sunglasses are made of lily pads:
And finally, here I am hanging out with Paul Schaffer, who rocks my stuff on the Letterman Show... (Ruth Domber from 10/10 Optics can be seen hiding in the corner of the frame!)
He looks pretty cool in them... And so would you!

My Interests

I'd like to meet:

"Yeah... I heard a funny thing,
Somebody said to me,
You know that I could be in love with almost everyone...
I think that people are the greatest fun."

Breathless, we flung us on the windy hill, Laughed in the sun, and kissed the lovely grass. You said, "Through glory and ecstasy we pass;Wind, sun, and earth remain, the birds sing still,When we a...

Andre The Giant

Okay, I'll admit it. Sometimes, I'll drift off from the endless stream of work that flows over my desk, and just surf the internet for a measure of relaxation. I pursue random tangents I find inte...

A curious compliment.

The nicest compliments are often the ones that you were never intended to hear. Or the ones that are given to you reluctantly.I received one such, recently. An old love of mine told me I had ruined h...

Well, here it is, New York Fashion Week, again. And here I am blogging about it, before it's even over. I feel comfortable doing so, because it's been relatively uneventful, and I expect it to rem...

Parties... "Holidays"...

I can honestly say I've arrived at the point where doing genuinely creativework is much more appealing to me than going out for some canned holiday. Even the vaunted Halloween. Really, it's no lon...
