ZeroGlitch

About Me

ZeroGlitch was formed when main members Voltaire, Marlon, Mark & Krissy. The band’s influences are a mixture of rock, funk and reggae. Bands on mention are Red Hot Chili Peppers, 311, No Doubt, and Audioslave just to name a few. ZeroGlitch had its official performance as a group in December 2004. The following 2 years had been very busy for the band – playing gigs, fundraisings and of course writing original tunes.
2005 was the year of private gigs mainly playing covers for ‘salasessions’ and for fundraisings. They were also featured in BAYANIHAN Newsletter thanks to Mr. Edd Aragon. Although ZeroGlitch played mostly covers, they made sure every song was arranged differently to the original. After numerous gigs the band eventually developed its own unique groove. Mid-2005 was when ZeroGlitch started writing original tunes. They would get together armed with a cassette recorder and record their own songs. Krissy, thanks to her lyrical genius would then add melody and lyrics to the music.
By the start of 2006, ZeroGlitch had already written at least 5 songs. The band invested on proper home recording equipment thanks to previously paid gigs. Most rehearsals were recorded and studied carefully by Marlon and Mark, the brains behind the technology. Mid-2006 was when ZeroGlitch got invited to play for a benefit concert, a GK (Gawad Kalinga) event helping to rebuild the slum areas in the Philippines, together with 6 or so other local bands. This was a start of a good friendship between these bands, which stayed strong to this day. ZeroGlitch debuted their original tunes and were very well received by the crowd. Apart from fundraisings, ZeroGlitch also developed a good working relationship with @ the Basement Restaurant and had organised gigs with them. Thanks to @ the Basement, local Sydney Filipino-Australian bands had a ‘home’ to play and relax. ZeroGlitch ended the year 2006 with a bang when they played at the Eraserheads Tribute Gig, which was held @ the Basement and was also organised by Marlon and Voltaire. The band was also featured in Music Lounge, a segment in Pinoy TV (www.pinoytv.com).
The New Year came and the band’s schedule was looking rather promising for the year 2007. ZeroGlitch opened at the Bamboo (www.bamboo.com.ph) concert here in Sydney on March 10 together with Iskatchtape and Hilsden, both local Sydney Filipino-Australian bands. ZeroGlitch has also been a part of ‘Pinoy Rock Revival’ series, 3 consecutive weekends of Pinoy Rock which was held @ the basement last April 2007 organised by QuadBox Productions .
In 2008, ZeroGlitch is now concentrating on their original tunes and now in the process of recording almost 16 original songs. They have a distinct sound, none you may have heard in the mainstream. Most of ZeroGlitch's songs are written from life experiences most people have encountered and succeded on or failed. Check out ZeroGlitch on thier next gig!
