DJ Herkules is a big redheaded fella who has been playing hip-hop music in clubs for about 10 years and a devoted hip-hop fan since the late 80s. He grew up in the countryside and in Oslo, the capitol of Norway, where he now lives.
In the beginning his rap idols were artists like Eric B & Rakim, Public Enemy and De La Soul. His major source of hip-hop music came from Tommy Tee's National Rap Show, which he later became a part of. He bought his first turntables in 1994 and later joined Tee and Diaz in building T&D Records, a well-known record store. Most of his time and money he spent on rap music and hip-hop culture.In the late 90€™s he was invited to join Tee Productions€™ big Norwegian tour where he opened and he went on to help Tommy Tee and his TP label.Herkules is a technically skilled DJ who plays a great variation of music but usually prefers to spin records by his favorite artists within genres like rap, ragga/dancehall, r&b and funk. Besides being a hot DJ in Oslo he has been the main DJ during the Norwegian b-boy and freestyle championships and major hip-hop jams around Norway.Herkules has has opened for acts like 50 Cent & G-Unit, Redman, Gang Starr, Alkaholiks, Rah Digga, G.Dep, Black Moon, Souls Of Mischief, Wu-Tang Clan among others.DJ Herkules has spent much time on stage as live DJ for his TP-colleagues Opaque, Warlocks, Diaz, Son of Light, Ken Ring and Gatas Parlament and the Swedish star Petter. He has also been performing on stage with known Norwegian acts like Paperboys, Kleen Cut, Madcon and Whimsical. DJ Herkules has made popular mixtapes like "Basic Education","The South" hosted by Stat Quo from Shady/Aftermath and "Best of Backpack" hosted by norwegian model Aylar.
