About Me

Since the self-titled EP I released in 2006, I've explored many other musical avenues and outlets, learned several other instruments, and whittled away my rough edges. The culmination of all this is my new album, Goodbye (Thesis of My Discontent), a long overdue collection of songs about the trials and tribulations of jealousy, love, youth, urban living, and letting go (to be taken with a grain of salt).
Half of the album was recorded in bits and pieces between February 2007 and June 2009. The other half was recorded by a worn out and unrehearsed band in three hours on the morning of June 17, 2009. This band consisted of Evan Cartwright, Gram Whitty, Leland Whitty, Jacob Damelin, Sam Dickinson (who was brought in for one tune, blew me away, and ended up staying for the whole sessions), and Lucas Meilach-Boston. Presented with simple chord charts and a short explanation of the form, this band of extremely talented musicians managed to come up with beautiful soundscapes to support my words. One week later on June 25th, I released the album in Jake Hoag's living room to a small crowd of friends and family.
I am currently playing shows occasionally around Toronto, mostly in people's living rooms and backyards, but I plan to expand my horizons in the near future. Any upcoming shows will be posted here.
The record is on sale at any gig or any time from myself for $10. You can also pick one up in Toronto at Soundscapes (572 College Street) or Linux Caffe (326 Hardbord Street).
I play in a number of other outfits such as The Elks, The Swamp Yankees, Steelgang 76, and in Robert McRoberts' and Sam Cash's bands. I will list gigs for them here.
