We are The Brookhurst Haunting. We originally started in 2006 as "Mannequin Love Affair" but changed our name at the beginning of 2009. Let's begin with a little history lesson before now:
Mannequin Love Affair was born at the beginning of 2006 as a simple cybergrind band featuring Neil Andersen and Joseph Haro. Neil did the vocals and programming while Joseph did guitars and bass. They released their first demo in 2006 around summer. It was alright but was badly recorded. They later decided to try harder and planned to release a full length. They were picked up by Deaf and Blind Records which planned to release the full length but later went out of business before the release. Mannequin Love Affair was later picked up by the now defunct label Harlot Records which released "Her Body Is In My Attic" in 2007. The album was limited to 100 copies but was distributed online as an MP3 release as well. It is now impossible to get a hold of this release.
Mannequin Love Affair later recorded an EP in late 2007 which was titled "Killabitch" which featured a cover of Down AKA Kilo's "Lean Like a Cholo." It was released only online through Harlot Records. The label later went out of business at the end of 2007. Mannequin Love Affair was put on hiatus since Joseph later left the band and things were at their worst. Mannequin Love Affair later came back as a full lineup in 2008 featuring members of Grace Underfire and Forever Convicted. The band later recorded a self titled EP which featured six tracks from "Her Body Is In My Attic" and "Killabitch." The EP was to be released by Statik Factory Records and Another Victim Records but it never was so the EP was available online through various music blogs and sites.
After many lineup changes, Mannequin Love Affair decided to change their name and sound at the beginning of 2009. They decided on the name The Brookhurst Haunting and started playing more of a blackened deathcore sound. With this new sound change and name, they recorded a three song demo which was to show the people out there the new sound.
Now back to present time, We are recording our debut full length entitled "Asylum" which will be out Summer 2009. Keep checking back for updates and new information.
