NECROTICA is a melodic, black influenced death metal band founded on the principles of blistering brutality and vehement blasphemy. The seeds of Necrotica's creation were sown in 2006 when drummer Justin Wallisch, guitarist Ryan Kuder, and ex. bass player Matt O'Tousa began rehearsing music together under the tentative name, Herod's Children. A little over a month later, Rex Gard joined the newly formed musical legion on guitar and vocals. The band then began experimenting and developing their sound within various styles of death and black metal. Two songs from that era remain within a common Necrotica set-list to this day: "The Fourteenth Key" and "The Twilight of Immorality."
In March of 2007, turmoil within the band caused Matt O'Tousa to be asked to leave. The band then spent a few months as a trio with a more focused practice regimen, and looking for a new bass player. Shortly after the search for a new keeper of the low-end had started, the band found just what they were looking for in bass player Matt Granville. Upon Matt's arrival into the mix of things, a new era began for the band. It was around this period of time that the band created an array of new musical compositions (three of which survived and are featured on the groups debut EP); the group also finally took on Necrotica as their official band name. Late in December '07/ early January '08 the first Necrotica release was recorded, the Echelon EP. The five songs featured on the Echelon EP are a collection of the best songs created within the early stages of Necrotica's existence.
Upon completing their first recording Necrotica began getting out and desecrating music venues with their unholy craft, all the while continuing to write an onslaught of new music. In the summer of 08' Necrotica had a total of seven new songs written and decided that it was necessary to record once again in order to have a product that accurately represented the current state, direction, and style of their music. Thus over the coarse of the summer the full length album, Reveling in Gomorrah was created. The album features seven new songs, and three re-recorded opuses from the Echelon EP, all of which reach a new level for the band in terms of musicianship, blasphemy, and production. Reveling in Gomorrah is tentatively expected to be released by the band in the summer of 2009.
Necrotica will be here to shred on more stages, blast with more bands, and share their sacrilege with more audiences until the end of the Æon. Death to the weakness of humanity fuckers!!!
