My sister had a friend who was a mobile DJ and ran a pirate radio station. I had listened to his station a few times, and had even attended a few parties he had DJed at, but I felt I could do better. I did some research and found a website (Pro Sound and Stage Lighting) that was holding weekly give-away contests for DJ equipment. I signed up and waited for the results. I must have tried for 2 months. Finally, I got VERY lucky, or should I say blessed. I received a phone call from PSSL and they told me I had won a Stanton Scratch Pak. It had EVERYTHING I needed to get started...
One year later I found myself at my middle school DJing the Thanksgiving Dance. I felt so cool...hehe. All of the "cool" people suddenly knew who I was...
DJing led to me experiment a bit. I started to make some mixtape-style remixes of songs for my parties, and that's where I fell in to producing. I made beats for about a year until I found some MC's. It just took off from there...
I accepted Christ in 2003, and slowly I began to change my musical direction. This is where I learned about Hip-Hop for the Soul. It introduced me to a whole new style of hip-hop. I learned about artists such as Braille, Soul Plasma, Shai Linne, Tony Stone, and other extremely talented Christian artists...
Soon after I was blessed once again in a big way. On Myspace I was able to locate many of those artists I had just learned of; I was even able to contact them. This is where I met Soul Plasma. He liked my music and was interested in working with me, so I gave him a couple of my beats. He felt that my music complimented his style, so things just picked up from there. It was through Soul that the Lord opened many more doors for me, allowing me to work with artists from Surreal to Kaboose to Shai Linne. I couldn't be any more thankful for all of His blessings which I am so undeserving of.
Thanks for taking the time to learn about me. God bless you.
