Where do I begin? Well, I currently live on the North Shore of the most Northern Hawaiian Island, Kauai. I'm going on 4 years out here and am still amazed by everything this Island offers. I have to say, the best part of living here is enjoying such epic beaches (Tunnels, Ke'e, Hanalei Bay) every single day as part of my daily routine. Of course, every sunrise and sunset is absolutely beautifull, and I just love living in this jungle/ocean paradise. A daily dose of sun and a quick dip in the ocean always gets my bliss going, and I do feel blessed to be able to appreciate and experience this as part of my day to day life.
I'm a MUSIC FANATIC!!! I LOVE it all; listening to, making my own, dancing to, music history, musicology, ethnomusicology, radio and radio programming... anything and everything related to music!!! I love how sound and rhythm can transcend my state of being. Always! My preferences of artists is dependent on how their sound can move me, where it takes me, and how i feel when I get there. I like a diverse variety of genres and artisits and have dabbled into a little bit of everything. I love, and am in-love, with music.; always will be! I NEED music!!! I devote my life to it, and will always be inspired and nourished, supported and released, and ultimately turned-on and rocked out by sound and song.
Currently, I do have a couple musical projects in the works. Solo singer/song-writing and a great rockin side project called the VESSELS. I enjoy performing vocals first and foremost, but I love jammin out on my good ol' Gibson Epiphone SG, playing around with some different styles, and still strumin a bit on my acoustic Yamaha Folk FG-300. I do take pride in writing, composing, and arranging my own music and lyrics, and I do invest a considerable amount of time playing, writing, and even recording. After years of playing solo, I am now lucky enough to have finally completed a 6 song DEMO. ALBUM that I'm quite proud of. Thanks to Pro-Tools and some amazing people here on Kauai, the "Bikini Re-cord Sessions" is now available for your ears! And new songs are firing out as well, so more tracks will be added soon.
I'm also a big fan of DANCE and DANCING, and have a strong dance background in a variety of different styles including but not limited to: Middle Eastern, American Tribal Style/A.T.S. , West African, Tahitian and more. I've found that Dance is just another way to connect with music, and combining music and dance into one experience is what I'm all about! Using my body as an instrument, I can create rhythym and personify sound via movement to harmonize/complement, embelish or even challenge the pre-existing melodies. For me, its just the ultimate way to get my bliss on! I just LOVE, LOVE, LOVE to connect with music this way! I love going out and getting down at live shows, but am not currently involved in any organized troupes/classes since moving to Hawaii. I still teach a few private/small group A.T.S. lessons to women/teens here on Kauai, and do enjoy keeping up with my dance technique as much as possible.
I also have the great honor of hosting a radio program at the best radio station on the planet, KKCR, KAUAI COMMUNITY RADIO. Hookin' it up and holding it down, every Friday night with the FRIDAY NIGHT FIXXX!!! 10pm-Midnight (Hawaiian time). Online 24/7 @ KKCR.org!
Well...Thats me in a nut-shell. Whew... The basics are covered at least. I'm just living my life day by day, living FREELY, with no real expectations. I'm just doing my best to truly live each moment to its fullest, follow and honor my passions, remain thankful for all that is, and find bliss and fun in every day!!! : )
