About Me

Mr. Sean Eden was born in Canada and raised there and in Texas. In the late 80's he moved to New York and performed as an actor in various off-broadway theaters, including LaMama and The Wooster Group's Performing Garage, and also composed and collaborated on music for a number of productions. During this time he was also a guitarist and singer in several rock bands, and in 1992 he joined the band Luna, who were about to release their first album, "Lunapark", on Elektra Records. Luna went on to record six studio albums, as well as several EPs, a live album, and music for a number of films and commercials. Rolling Stone magazine described Luna's "Penthouse" as one of the "essential albums of the 90's", and Musician magazine's review remarked "this is an album that merits listening from beginning to end, top to bottom, over and over". Sean's guitar playing has been described as "so luxurious it's practically decadent" (-Nylon), "amazing, echo-plexed, atmospheric" (-NewBeats) and Rolling Stone's Joe Levy says "Luna's guitar players shine in live performance, where Sean Eden heads for the rafters." Mr. Eden currently is recording with a new band, the working title is Weeds of Eden, but a new name shall be established forthwith. The original line-up of Weeds of Eden comprised Eden, Lee Wall (drummer for Luna) and David Voigt. This line-up recorded an excellent EP five years ago that is currently unavailable, but one of the tunes, "Undone" is available for your pleasure here. Mr. Eden also currently plays with Elk City (www.elkcity.net), and appears on their forthcoming album, "New Believers". Other artists Sean has recorded or performed with include Youth and Valor, Frank Bango, Ambulance Ltd., Kramer, Penn Jillette, Simone White, Anika Moa, Matthew Buzzell, Enemies of the Secret Hide-Out, Stack, Drazy Hoops, Spade, and Night People. Sean composed, performed and recorded the score for the award-winning documentary film "What a Girl Wants" (commissioned by the Theresa Heinz Foundation), and has written music segments for NBC, the AMC cable channel, PBS, and the independent feature "I'm Losing You"(Strand Releasing). As a member of Luna he has composed and performed music for the scores of the feature films "Sideways" (Fox Searchlight), "Mr. Jealousy" (Castleberg/Lions Gate), "Thursday" (Propaganda Films/Gramercy Pictures) and the recently released documentary of Luna's farewell tour, "Tell Me Do You Miss Me".
