About Me

Justin was discovered in the Green Mountains of Vermont by two hikers. He was not raised by a pack of wolves but rather a pride of feral cats. He was taken in by a family at around the age of four. By six he was reading and writing but still had the tendency to walk on all fours. He entered the public school system at age 8 but was constantly teased and harassed. Other students would leave cat nip in his locker in the morning. As a result he would be stuck pacing back and forth in front of his locker all day, occasionally scratching and sniffing at it, never knowing why. At the age of thirteen he ran away from home and found himself in New York City. He was discovered by an agent while performing as a mime outside of Port Authority. She told him to change his name to Chet and had him tilt his head to the side every time he said it. Casting directors were both fascinated by this movement and by his story, and he soon developed a successful commercial career. He landed his biggest job as the new spokesperson for Meow Mix cat food. Unfortunately, Justin got involved in a literal "cat" fight with one of the trained cats on the set. During this scuffle Justin lost an eye and adopted both the eye patch that his wears to this day and the nickname Patches. He legally changed his name the next year to Chet Patches. He decided to change the focus of his career and became hugely successful playing the role of Mr. Mistoffelees in several regional productions of the musical Cats. Reviews such as, “Half man half Catmazing”, from Regional Theater Weekly and, “Chet Patches is Purrrfect!” from Cat Fancy Magazine were the norm. It was during this period of Justin’s life that he developed a love for unitards and ultimately a love for biketards, which combines the versatility of the unitard with the good looks of bike shorts. Justin now resides in New York. Inspired by the short lived early 90’s television show “Beauty and the Beast” and the book The Mole People, Justin spends his evenings prowling around the sewer systems of New York. His days are divided between working as a tour guide for the New York Tours bus company and working at a fish cannery in Brooklyn.
