Born May 15, 1978, Rodrigo Alvear, grew up in the streets of Chicago's Humboldt Park area. The name "Scarface was given to him at the age of 1 when he had a near death experience with a hot iron. As his mother was ironing, she stepped away for a split second only to find that a curious boy had pulled the irons cord. The hot iron had fallen on the boy's right cheek leaving a scar and branding him with the name of "Scarface".Scarface first fell in love with music at the age of 12 when his parents bought him his first set of turntables, hoping that would keep him out of trouble, off the streets and away from gangs. He was constantly glued on the radio listening to djs such as "Bad" Boy Bill, Julian "Jumpin" Perez, Brian "Hitmix" Middleton, and Tim "Spinnin" Schomer to name a few. As he listened night after night to various radio stations and learned the basics of mixing music, he started djing at various house parties for family and friends. Eventually he moved on to dj at various local Chicago clubs such as Alcatraz, Polos, Tania's, Village Cafe, Captain's Crib, 720, etc. By this time Scarface had made enough friends in the dj world, which gave him enough clout to be able to dj at 21 and over clubs. As time went on he developed a true love for old school house music and freestyle. In 1994 Scarface started his own company called Latin Tribe Entertainment, a company that would provide Djs, emcees and even dancers for various functions. In 1995 Dj Scarface released his first cd titled, "Crimes of Love", which sold well over 5,000 units. He later went on to release "Crimes of Love" Vol.2, "Looking for Love", and "My Little Girl". Scarface has also released various spanish cds including a full Reggaeton, Salsa, and Merengue cd.Recently in May of 2008, Dj Scarface, was introduced to a well-established reggaeton group called, "Los Charlatanes". Beby n Enough, Los Charlatanes, then introduced Dj Scarface to Tony Torres, another very well established artist. Dj Scarface's future seems to be very promising now working with Pal Mundo Entertainment's, Mike Rivera and Lourdes Raices along with such artists as Cuban Babe, Midwest Conspiracy, Gabino, and Los Charlatanes.LED Scroller is hosted by MyPimpSpace.com
