About Me

I've never married and have no children other than my two golden retrievers. I'm educated, have lived and worked all over the world, love the outdoors as well as the arts and am equally comfortable in blue jeans or black tie.I am very eclectic and have done just about everything that has ever interested me. My hobbies and my work tend to blend together. I've been everything from a professional pilot and radio talk show host to an on-camera actor and university professor and dean. For the past several years I've been a journalist working out of my house for an international aviation industry publication. I have several books and hundreds of articles published. I also continue to work occasionally as a professional actor in commercials, industrials, film, television, voiceover and print.

My Interests

I'm an avid outdoorsman and lover of the arts. My outdoor activities include upland, waterfowl and big game hunting, fishing in my bassboat, competitive shooting, teaching firearm safety courses, scuba diving, horses, canoeing and more.I am a drummer, love theater, symphony, art, museums, great food, and both domestic and international travel. I recently took swing and ballroom dancing and found I really enjoy dancing especially tango! My favorite U.S. city is New Orleans and my favorite international city is a tie between Hong Kong and Singapore.

I'd like to meet:

A young, intelligent woman with a great sense of humor, spirit of adventure and desire for a long term relationship.I like kids and don't view them as "excess baggage" and I've always wanted a daughter. If you don't have kids, that's fine but having them is not a problem either provided fires don't mysteriously break out in their presence and they don't wonder out loud what roast haunch of retriever would taste like.I am attracted to younger women so that pretty much implies you'd have to be attracted to older men. For the most part I've only dated women in their 20s and 30s and yes, I can keep up; you know, metaphorically speaking. You should have a slender to medium build as I am not attracted to heavy women. For my part, I regularly work out. Also, please be a non-smoker, I'm allergic to cigarette smoke, and at most an occasional drinker, in good health and not "into" drugs.I particularly like a woman who can just be silly sometimes. A silly expression or the occasional snide comment about something is like a diamond in the rough. Not mean, just silly. We would spend most of our free time together, explore the world and yet occasionally run away from it together, watch movies and plays then go drink coffee and discuss them, read the paper together on Sunday mornings, explore new restaurants and sample food off each other's plates, give one another little smooches on the back of the neck when the other least expected it, play a little kinky from time to time, always stand firmly behind one another in times of stress, share pride in each other's accomplishments, give a matched set of dirty looks to those who would offend one of us, occasionally give a discrete pat on the butt to each other in inappropriate places, share household and life's chores, and generally be each other's best friend and lover.

Music:

I have very eclectic tastes in music. My 60 gig iPod has about 3500 songs. I have oldies rock-and-roll, jazz, classical, pop, swing, zydeco and just about anything else you can imagine. I love music.

Movies:

There's no doubt about it, I'm a movie buff. For a very long time I saw everything that came out but I just don't have the time anymore. I'm on Netflix so I still see a lot of movies. There are very few movies I'm not willing to see. Some of my all-time favorites are: Blazing Saddles, Dr. Strangelove, Usual Suspects, The Godfather, Raising Arizona, The Maltese Falcon and On Golden Pond.

Television:

For the most part I only watch the news or an occasional AMC movie. I am hooked on the Sopranos and 24 but I get them through Netflix and watch them a season at a time rather than doing the weekly installments. Other than that I really don't watch television

Books:

I'm a dyed-in-the-wool bibliophile. I have thousands of books and take a book with me just about everywhere I go to fill in the down time. When I'm flying somewhere on assignment I put on my iPod and read.I don't have a lot of time to read fiction anymore unless it's written by a friend though I will occasionally pick up a Dean Koontz book just because he is such a good writer. What I do read is a ton of non-fiction: Politics, philosophy, history, business, etc. You don't ever want to go to Barnes & Noble with me; I can't get out of the place.

Heroes:

John Wayne. I know, it sounds corny but he epitomized the ideaized American values and ethics on the screen and in his own life except for his rotten track record with marriage. I love this country and I'm not ashamed to say so, to say the Pledge of Allegiance or sing the Star's Spangled Banner. We have problems, to be sure, but I've been all over the world and nobody has it figured out better.
