I wouldn't necessarily say I had a favorite genre. Although, I am kind of a loser in the fact that I'm not a big fan of the Beasty Boys. I know, I know, but I can't help it! I can say I respect them, but they just don't do it for me. Sorry. But not really.

Kurt Vonnegut and Carl Hiaasen are my current favorites. Come on, Breakfast of Champions? Find me better lit. than that. Hiaasen's Skinny Dip? That's comedic geniousness!
Allen Ginsberg and his crew. They led very interesting lives and saw almost all of the world. I'm jealous. Not big on their actual writing, though.
