Audio mastering is the process of preparing and transferring recorded audio to a medium for future duplication. The specific medium that receives the mastered audio varies, depending on the intended release format of the final product. This medium is then used as the master copy, from which all further production of the audio material will be based.
• Media transfer to mastering workstation• Analyze sonic balance of source files (removing hiss, clicks or pops if necessary), equalize and dynamically enhance music to maximize its effectiveness in all listening environments (appropriate equalization, compression and/or limiting)• Edit and sequence (in/out fades, cross-fades, assemble song order)• Bit/sample rate conversion (if required), dither/noise shaping• Burn and deliver reference disc for customer/label/A&R approval• Encode ISRC, UPC/EAN information (if applicable) and deliver one (1) gold master, red book-compatible CD-R with corresponding PQ log and CD quality-verification sheet. CD Text encoding also available!
DO NOT - Limit, Compress, or Normalize the final stereo output of your mixdown. If you reduce the overall dynamics before sending your mix to your mastering engineer, you reduce the effectiveness and range of control that we have on your mixes. So bekommt es einen hervorragenden Sound, wirkt transparenter und wärmer und erhält die erforderliche Durchsetzungskraft und Lautstärke, um sich gegen andere aktuelle Produktionen zu behaupten. Beim Mastering bekommt eine Aufnahme, oder besser gesagt: der Stereo-Mixdown einer Aufnahme, den letzten Schliff. Er wird klanglich optimiert und auf ein für die Vervielfältigung erforderliches Premaster-Medium gebracht.
Grundsätzlich gilt: Das Mastering ist erst fertig, wenn ihr zufrieden seid.
