About Me

Dayna Smith is a super famous rockstar girl. (tm) It's a compelling and very true story. She also enjoys writing in third person. Here are some current super famous rockstar highlights: Check out the slowdive magic of HALF LIGHT. (w/Dayna Loeffler, Brian Ackley, Scott Muhlbeier, Barb Hunter and Jeff Baars) Think Mazzy Star meets Portishead meets Pink Floyd. The new album is out and another one is in the works. TRUE STORY!! Head to CDBaby.com, iTunes and other fine locations to enjoy the rock hotness! Tim Powell of the band, The Church lent his mixing skillz from Down Under AND added some very cool personal touches. The band is VERY happy with the way things turned out. www.myspace.com/halflightseattle ------------------------------------------Good GOD - the CHEWY album is finally in stores!! (w/Joe Doria, Lorrie Ruiz, Larry Bichler and Chris Spencer) Much time, effort, little sleep and crazy Optigon adventures went into this recording. There were also shenanigans. And chicanery! How can you go wrong? A little soul, a little funk, a little trippy groove.... CHECK IT OUT. ------------------------------------------Newest on the roster is a duo project with Charlie Beck of Memphis Radio Kings fame entitled, THE INTIMATE TIMES. (That's right - TIT for short.) A 'Latin Gothic' vibe is currently being explored, but who knows WHERE this is all gonna end up - there's a litte bit of everything in there! The duo is currently recording an EP with a full album to come very shortly thereafter. 'Lots of shows coming up - Please join us! -----------------------------------------------CARRIE CLARK & THE LONESOME LOVERS (w/Carrie Clark and Greg Fulton). Check out the album, 'Seems So Civilized' on Red Bug Records. It was recorded in Toronto by Producer, Darryl "Special Friend" Neudorf. (Neko Case, The New Pornograhpers, The Sadies) Many rockstar shenanigans, including electrocution and rockstar mandated alcohol consumption occurred on various tours. (Note: Electrocution incident was *not* related to alcohol... The Lonesome Lovers are very responsible rockstars... Sort of....) Check out the blog for details of the civilized debauchery. ------------------------------------------Last, but certainly not least, is a project that is very near and dear to the heart of Super Famous Rockstar Girl (tm) -- - THE FAST PRETTY WAY. This has been brewing for quite some time and is finally seeing the light of day. (Dayna - bass and vocals, Greg Fulton - guitar, Dave Carter - trumpet and an awesome list of special guests) The band produced a three song EP with the help of Vincent Gates at Common Tone Studios and will be recording the full-lengh cd of all new material sometime soon. w/Special Guests, even! Kick ass! Check out http://www.myspace.com/thefastprettyway for more info! ------------------------------------------Additional amazing musicians that Dayna has recently had the pleasure of playing with are CENTRAL SERVICES and CENTRAL SERVICES BOARD OF EDUCATION with Kevin Emerson on vocals and drums, Jeff Blancato on guitars and Eric Goetz on piano and accordian. (With Andrea Wittgens, Jon Goff and Vincent Gates!!) She plays a lot of gameshows with them. In fact, she'll play ANY gig that involves a giant, spinning wheel... Oooooo - AND then there's THE GEM SALOON glimmering in the distance. All full of whiskey and pain... The Gem Saloon residents are Dayna and Greg Fulton doing old skool Americana and Country (late 1800s through 50s and 60s) and some original tunes. Look for a Gem Saloon album coming SOON! ---------------------------- OOOOOoooo! And also look for a collection of stories from the road coming sometime next year. All the shenanigans and chicanery located in ONE CONVENIENT PLACE! SCORE!
