The first time I finished a complete illustration as a student at Howard University in Professor Nicole Gray's Illustration course, I was in love. I fell in love with lines that would show expression, color that dazzled my eyes, texture that seemed so tangible, drawings that seemed to want to walk off my sketchpad taking on a life of their own. …And that is exactly what they did.
2002 brought the incredible opportunity of studying abroad at one of Europe's leading Fashion Design schools, Istituto Marangoni, in Milan, Italy. The experience left me wanting to create a collection of sorts, what kind of collection was still a mystery.
The question of how could I share what was so special to me with the world puzzled me. I began experimenting with t-shirts, but was brought to what is now our limited edition luxury tote collection, launched in September of 2003. August of 2005, we introduced our bridal keepsake bag giving brides a fascinating alternative to storing wedding mementoes in a box. This fall, we plan to launch a new collection of luxury t-shirts.
