Brandyn David Feldman got his start in 2004 while in the U.S Navy. Coming from an artistic family, he grew passionate about tattoo history and culture, specifically American-Traditional style, which is ever present in all of his art and tattooing.
After working in a few shops in Southern California, Brandyn and his wife started Traditional Ink Tattoo Parlour in Los Angeles , California , March 2006. Involving himself deeply in the art and technicalities of tattooing (how to do a proper tattoo) Brandyn tried his hand at building a tattoo machine. With a mechanical background, building Ford model A’s with his father and working in a metal shop for years in high school, Brandyn felt a comfort in pursuing tattoo machine building. Dedicated to making a great machine, he engineered the correct geometry, researching all aspects of electro-magnetism, and building the tooling. Brandyn began building his machine frames in a form of investment lost wax casting using silicone, bronze and iron. Receiving a lathe and an end mill from his uncle, Brandyn began machining the bronze frames. Educating himself about machining, Brandyn began building all parts used on his machines.
“The tattoo industry is filled with history and ritual. I plan on expanding my knowledge about tattoo history and tattoo machine history and applying it to everything I build or create. As tattooers, without the respect and knowledge of our roots we have nothing.†Brandyn explains.
Brandyn plans on building more machines as time goes on, improving and learning with every step to take him to the next level.
