About Me

A very close friend of mine told me to examine my "weirdness," because it seems to him that it is getting out of hand. I can't say that I totally understand what he meant by that as we were both un-sober at the time; but he meant it..that much I know. So I'll meditate on it and think it over for some time..but in the meantime I will continue to cultivate a spirit of weirdness for the world to experience. I, like many of you, believe that every person has a purpose; we each carry a very small piece of eternity's existential puzzle with us. I have discovered and accepted that a part of my purpose is to be a little more "weird" than anyone can expect...to raise the level of "weirdness" in this world...to make it a little bit more acceptable to think/be/act/feel/respond/live/worship/talk/search/interact/ love/work/sing Weird. The way I figure it, the people who improve upon what already exists have a good shot at making a name for themselves; however it is those people, the weird ones, who find a new way to do something never thought of before (i.e. I want to talk to someone who's not even here...let me invent a telephone!) that have a better shot at making history. I'm not a history maker, no, the universe did not see fit to assign me that role...however I feel that so long as I am around, other people are free enough to be as weird as they can be because really, they'll never be "as weird as THAT guy." Mission accomplished.

Shrek 3; Hostel 2; Mr Brooks; Oceans 13; Knocked Up; Surf's Up

Shrek 3 -- Definitely a drop off from the previous two films...the jokes are along the same lines so they're not as funny and most of the good stuff was shown in the 12 months of previews prior to rel...

Spiderman 3; 28 Weeks Later

I know I know, I've neglected the movie reviews for a couple of weeks now, but for good reason I assure you. However it saddens me to think of so many friends wasting money on bad movies because no on...

The Namesake; The Condemned

The Namesake -- I do enjoy pleasant surprises. I'd bet dollars to donuts that this was a personal project for the producer or director because of how they meticulously protected the integrity of every...

Fracture; Vacancy

Fracture -- Anthony Hopkins has the cool, calculating, murderer role measured out to a science. He's best at playing the type of character that gets off on playing games with everyone around him; this...

Perfect Stranger; Distrubia

Perfect Stranger -- Movie theater was packed...the people came out to see Halle and Bruce. I'm sure they were satisfied, most people left the theatre with a pleased expression on their face. However I...

Grindhouse; The Reaping

Grindhouse.  A definite B-movie experience (grainy, over the top acting, not to be taken seriously), Terrantino and Rodriquez tried just hard enough to fake their way into a throwback movie-going...

Blades of Glory; Reign Over Me; TMNT

Blades of Glory -- The previews do it no justice; it is as funny as you thought it would be. I loathe the day when Will Ferrell's antics become "old" and repetitive to watch...luckily for everyone tod...

I Think I Love My Wife -- This concept would have flourished had it been better produced. The struggle to stay faithful after being married for a number of years is not a new topic for entertainment; ...

300 -- This movie sucked. I mean I had to pay to see it twice just to make sure it sucked as much as I thought it did the first time. With its fantastic story telling and gruesome fight scenes; how da...

Black Snake Moan -- Of course this movie could have went either way. Watching the previews gave me a small sense of dread: "It LOOKS good, but it's a black man with a chained up white woman..." No, it...
