Some artists breathe life into art, some artists breathe art into life, while on very rare occasions others allow life and art to breathe into them. This is where you find Tekh Togo. In the same way that a painter paints, or a sculptor sculpts, artist Tekh Togo makes masterpieces. In an era of music where the last thing that today’s artists reflect on is the art and elements in which hip hop was built, Tekh Togo stands, and always has stood in his own lane. Togo (as he is often referred) has been making music regardless to the fact that the classics he has contributed in his home town, have only been exposed to the hip hop heads in the city of Grand Rapids, Michigan...Welcome to Gun Rule. Tekh Togo who was initially known as The Technician was a major spearhead for hip hop in the early 90's in this Dutch West Michigan city. The Technician blossomed into a major pillar in hip hop in the infamous Wallabee era of rap. Being influenced by artists Jimi Hendrix, Nas, The Wu Tang Clan, AZ, Mobb Deep, and producers, The Rza, Diamond D, DJ Premier, and Dr. Dre, Togo’s sound is a gluttonous concoction of hip hops finest ingredients and elements ie., the swagger of a true B Boy? check, Thought provoking lyrical content? check, Neck breaking beats? check, and oh yea the fashion sense of an individual that already made it. Tekh Togo, enter stage right. While still under the moniker The Technician, Togo aligned himself with a few other artists and formed the alliance “The Madd Team†in the early 90s (Madd team consists of The Technician, Mad Wayne, Civi Mahdi, Dead Drunk, and Lucky). Under the Madd Team alliance, The Technician crafted the classic Black City (which is tentatively set for re-release in 2007), The Theatrical Trailer, amongst a string of other projects that allowed Tekh the adoration of individuals who encountered his art.Fast forward into time, things changed. Music has taken a different turn that some may argue wasn’t the best move, but the move was made regardless. As time progressed, Gun Rule representative DJ Head who grew up under Tekh has formed BlokHead ENT which Tekh has worked with over the years in hopes of returning the game to its once prized state. Add in the changes the Madd Team has taken, and you still find an individual who has remained over the years while continuing to grow as a man and an artist.Tekh Togo has performed in several states with his unique sound including California, Illinois, and parts of Michigan. The work has always been put in, and now the exposure is next in line...Pangea Incorp, enter stage left. Tekh Togo is an extremely important factor to the Pangea movement and through this movement, individuals who all respect and enjoy his craft support and expose his art to those who may not have been able before. So far so good. In June 2006, Tekh Togo began to record what is now “Tekh Togo Collection: Dark Edition(hosted by DJ Head of BlokHead ENT).†After receiving a cd filled with over 80 instrumentals, Togo began to craft the classic that was released in October of 2006. Showing his growth and ability to deliver over classic instrumentals and loops, Tekh served 19 songs with themes ranging from women, world domination, Persévérer™, women, and a host of other things that allow him to remain relevant without dumbing down his content. Tekh Togo is steadily working on his latest full length LP “Paint by Chico Kiabotchi†which is slated for a mid to late 2007 release. In between then, Togo will be releasing The Chemical Ali mixtape in 2007.A lover of Prada sneaks, and Versace glasses, Togo is a throwback futurama and the music reflects this and his disposition supports this. Reader, enter into the chamber..check!!
