About Me

Subuteo. It's not how you look; it's how you listen. It's who you are.Two sides of the globe, one driving idea is the foundation of what Subuteo is for it's members and it's residents. It's all about the sound and the emotion behind it for Subuteo founders Cole Barnett and Brian Busch. Image comes and goes and people are always on the move with club culture. It's what lies beneath the surface of this culture that Subuteo seeks to exploit. What causes two eyes to meet in a club? What causes the hairs to rise on your neck? What is it about "the track" that knocks you back, short of breath? It's the same flick that brings two experiences, from different parts of the world to form an idea of no compromise and a constant pursuit for "the sound."Cole Barnett is a UK, England resident that has been involved in the club culture since the age of 16."My first clubbing experience was with Oakenfold and CREAM in Liverpool, England for the turn of the New Year to 1996. The most amazing experience! When Oakey dropped BT, Flaming June for the first time that night I was deep in the club. I turned and saw a girl, smile on her face and a tear on her cheek. From that time I've invested the best that I have into seeking and harnessing that ability to impact others like me with the perfect sound. I'm constantly chasing it."Cole began playing out heavily on his arrival in the United States, summer of 1997. He quickly became involved in the club scene in Texas over these early years playing regularly in Houston's "Hyperia" and "Orbit Room", Austin's "Velvet" and "Element" and Dallas's "Pharmacy", "Mick's". His out of state performances include, but are not limited to, Chicago's' "Zentra", "Glow", Las Vegas, "RA" and selected sets in the United Kingdom. "I'm trying to take my journey in music to the next level. In the last year or so I have had a burning desire to pursue the production of a new genre of progressive and Brian shares this same desire. He's my accountability partner. If he's heard it before or knows where it's going, it's not good enough."Brian Busch, a native Texan is the other piece of this puzzle. Brians' involvement in the club culture is from a US perspective and has been in an almost enviable position. His accumulation of appearances both in and out of state have spread like wildfire in the last 2 years. "The CD that just changed my life was Perfecto Presents Another World By Oakey. After seeing him live I truly gained an insight into what this deal is all about. He just rocked the decks his energy and showmanship were amazing and the whole crowd eating out of his hand which I thought was incredible. That was when I knew I wanted to be a DJ and have not stopped chasing "the sound" since. Another person who influenced my life in a big way is my counterpart, Cole Barnett. By fate I attended a party on a college campus when I resided in Waco. Sure enough I walk into the party and I hear the sound. So I walk directly to the DJ booth, met Cole and it was all over from there. This relationship helps us grow as DJ's and hone a sound that is truly our own. I eventually made the move to Dallas and pursued my dream to be a DJ. Brian has appeared in such places such as "Ruby Room", "Club One", "Zephyrs", "Ecco Lounge", "B-Side" as well as "The Dugout"."We invite you all to come for the Subuteo experience. We appreciate our residents and everyone we have been closely working with to launch our exposure. Step back, take a breath and welcome to the dance. Welcome to Subuteo. Myspace Scroll Box Creator
