5th Avenue is Manchester's number one indie experience. Since the early 1990's when in the Madchester era 80's nightclub legends was renamed 5th Avenue, we have been hosting the biggest and best indie nights in the city.
With a largely student based clientele, we have become the student capital of the northwest. When the infamous Hacienda closed in 1997 and bar culture took over Manchester, 5th Avenue kept going strong and is now more successful than ever.
In the second half of the 80’s and new music scene blossomed in Manchester, different from any previous pop movement in the UK. The rash and robust Manchester music was a breath of fresh air after the 80’s domination of pop ballads Duran Duran and Spandau Ballet. The Stone Roses, Happy Mondays and the Charlatans are some of the more well known refreshing Manchester indie bands that dominated this era. The fashion, the look, the excitement of the Manchester music took over the city and the rest of the country. 5th Avenue decided to take this music to the Manchester club scene by hosting Manchester indie nights every week. Now clubber could listen and dance to their favourite Manchester bands in a nightclub environment.
Even though 5th Avenue is famous for playing indie rock, the club has recently began introducing dance, hip-hop, nu metal and even quality pop to the crowds. 5th Avenue is known for always having a fantastic, friendly and high-energy atmosphere. The dance floor is always pumping to the best tunes around. Our clubbers are always cool people with one ambition – to have a great time! Our staff are always friendly and helpful. 5th Avenue takes special care of its clubbers, to make sure thay fell safe and secure and can enjoy themselves. Since the 90’s the club has undergone a number of interior changes, most recently a £150,000 refurbishment enlarged the dance floor, created another bar and great chill out rooms where customers can relax and enjoy the music. And with bigger and better bars the service is twice as good ensuring that you are not waiting forever to be served. The clubs lighting and sound system have also been transformed to allow for the best surround system that any club has to offer.

It's the end of the week so chill out and let off some steam tonight Aat 5th Avenue. Fridays have a mixture of indie and alternative dance to suit your taste. Relax in the chillouut rooms or dance until 3am - it's your choice. Just make sure you feel the release and have a great time!
