About Me

2008: well, echophonic's new album is 'under construction'. but at the same time our drummer dissi has a great deal to do because of lovely offspring. Hence the scheduled release of our new songs delays. we wish all a wonderful summer and dissi and his wife at least a few hours of sleep :-) the first prelistening sessions delay, maybe we will put new songs on myspace in november. and sorry, defenitely no tour at the moment! | 2007: brings out a great new bandmember Helmut Garschall (definitely James Bond on the guitars) and a lot of prerecording sessions for the new album. | 2006: the video "She's Got An Army" is amongst the nominees for the Utv music awards. First-day-bandmember Alexander Eggerth decides to split with the band. Now as a trio, echophonic release their album in Germany on the Indielabel Pink Ink Music / Berlin. | 2005: echophonic split from Universal Music Publishing. The video for "Covergirl" is amongst the nominees for the Utv music awards. The band continues the ego-trip and produces their third album, which is mastered by the legendary Alan Douches, who has already worked his magic on acts like Ben Folds Five, The Chemical Brothers or Hole, in West West Side Studio / New Jersey (USA). This new album is released on "Silberfisch Records", at the releaseparty in a small viennese cinema the band presents the film "This Is Echophonic!" with the new album as the soundtrack. The first single "Okay" as well as the album teaser single "Shes Got An Army" go on heavy rotation on Radio Fm4. The videos are shown on the Austrian music tv channel Gotv. "She's Got An Army" also appears on the Radio Fm4 Sound Selection 12. | 2004: echophonic are concentrating on constructing their own studio and on the preproduction of the next album. | 2003: the new album "Colours Going Blind" is released on "Silberfisch Records". Again echophonic tour Germany and Austria, this time with the German band Readymade. | 2002: the song "Saturday" enters the top ten of the Austrian Alternative Charts. The song "Navigator" is chosen as the title song for the Austrian film Ikarus. echophonic are nominated in the category Fm4 Alternative Act Of The Year at the Austrian music awards Amadeus. | 2001: echophonic refuse a major label deal, set up their own label "Silberfisch Records" and release the EP "Navigator" soon afterwards. The song "Youre Gone" enters the top ten of the Radio Fm4 charts. Soon afterwards the band tours Austria with the German band Slut, and Germany with the Belgian band Das Pop. echophonic also join the Radio Fm4 tour and end the year as the most played Austrian act on Radio Fm4 (thank you!). | 2000: the debut album "Hotel Underwater" (Weserlabel/Geco) is released in Germany, Austria and Switzerland. The single "Hey You" turns into a minor indie-hit and is included in the Visions-Compilation All Areas Vol. 5. | 1998: Alexander Eggerth, Tina Boehsner, Richard Kromp and Christoph Dissmann form the band they call "echophonic"
