Non Radio Friendly - "Bury This Broken Heart"
When I first got this CD I really thought it was going to be a Ramones-core pop punk band. What I got instead is one of the most original sounding CD's I've heard in at least 10 years, if not more. Non Radio Friendly shows influences from every sub-genre of punk and mixes them all very well to make one hell of a musical cocktail! Each song sounds a little different from the last and the closest comparison I can think of are a mix of J-church, Jawbreaker & The Descendents. The comparison is solely to give you an idea of their sound, but also doesn't give Non Radio Friendly enough credit for making their own unique sound. There is ton's of passion and energy put into each song with lyrics deep enough that you have to listen a few times before you can fully appreciate them. Needless to say I really enjoy this CD and believe that any fan of punk regardless of the sub-genre label you're into will really like Non Radio Friendly.

Non Radio Friendly - Bury This Broken Heart
This DFW trio clearly digs old-school pop punk. Singer Chad Riley's vocals are, well, fun, his voice a punchy mid-range homage to everyone from Elvis Costello to Joe Jackson (yeah, there's definitely an '80s British vibe going on here). The songs are fun too, all sing-along choruses and simple but hooky guitar lines and pogo-friendly drums. This is a joyous crew, but with a distorto-ska edge.

Non Radio Friendly's catchy beats and punk sound leave you feeling good and wanting more. This local Dallas band is newly-formed having only been together about 6 months. Although the band is still in its infancy, they have a well developed sound that stays true to the traditional punk genre.

Raised on the Late 80's, to early 90's Punk, it shaped the song writing of singer Chad Riley's music. After playing in several bands, Chad decided to take a break from music. Only to return to writing once again, after suffering heart ache, and loss. It brought a new edge to his arsenal. What used to be songs of having fun, and being stupid, were replaced with songs about bad relationships, and losing the love of your life. Some truly dark songs, and edgy lyrics, put to catchy and poppy music.
Rob met Chad while he was searching for a Bassist on his new Project. Rob was looking for a good band, that he could unleash his writing capabilties on. When the two met, they knew it was a fit. Both of there styles meshed, and both were into Punk Music. Rob fused funk, and jazz, to poppy riffs to help create an original sound. After playing with a couple of drummers, they nabbed a show, and a shot at a Battle of the Bands. Only to be set back, by a drummer that decided he didn't like Punk Music.
A few days later, Rob found a drummer, who was into Punk. Mark came over to meet Chad and Rob, and quickly decided, this was the band for him. Three days later, and only two practices, they took to the stage at Darkside Lounge, after an invitation from Bryan the Booking Agent. A week later, they went into the Studio, and recorded there first albulm. Three individuals, who had one purpose in mind. To make good music, and do what they love. Now you know the story, and it's still being written at this point. So come out to the shows, and experience Non Radio Friendly. You'll be glad you did.
