Violetta was an edgy NYC based rock band that existed from late 1999 to sometime around the end of 2001.
After leaving the infamous post hardcore band "World Stranger", guitarist Matt Sinrod reponded to a classified ad from Jesse Pullen (formerly of the notorious Florida outfit, "Skunkwerks") on an internet message board. A self proclaimed "insane drummer", Pullen was looking to start a new project with a decidedly darker sound.
The guitarist and drummer shared an uncanny sense of rhythm, upon which Alex Sjrazer was eventually recruited to place a more open, melodic guitar style on top of. After auditioning numerous bass players, the band selected R&B/funk enthusiast Ricardo Rodriguez to round out the quartet.
Due to creative differences, the band never recorded enough complete material to perform a live set, despite numerous demos and partially finished ideas.
The best of Violettas creative output remains a handful of unique songs, colors, and music ahead of its time.
