CHOSEN IMAGE consists of two extraordinarily gifted individuals that were both born in the Bronx, NY in the early 1980’s. Cory Campbell and Michael Stephen Flowers were both born into church-oriented families and both grew up singing in church (Greater Faith Temple) right in the inner city of the Bronx. They would be in such a zone that they were completely oblivious to the fact that every time they opened their mouths in song, an audience would gather around them in awe of their vocal ability and control. Therefore it was inevitable that their gifts would immediately make room for them. As their voices matured and were nurtured by Pastor, they were put to work without hesitation.They would begin to lead thousands to worship under such an anointing. Cory and Mike continued to go forth in their anointing not knowing that the musical director of their church was a fast upcoming producer especially in the gospel industry. Steve “Supe” White, producer and writer of many such as Fred Hammond, Kirk Franklin, Donnie McClurkin, Musiq Soulchild, Mary J. Blige, Marvin Sapp, etc. quickly recognized Mike and Cory’s potential individually and started working with them as a duo. Hence, the name Chosen Image, which was thoroughly thought when Supe presented the 2 singers with a challenge of creating a name that will represent what they stand for in every way. They came back immediately with the answer, CHOSEN IMAGE because “WE WERE CHOSEN TO PORTRAY GOD’S IMAGE. We need to make music that the unbeliever is used to so we can spark their interest first and then prayerfully, they will be convicted to come to Christ through our lyrics”. Chosen Image is truly a product of their surroundings. They figure since they were born in unpleasant surroundings why not minister to the same people and show them the light. Their ministry and their “unbelievable and unfair talent” Supe says, has and will continue to make room for them internationally. “Don’t get it twisted”, says Cory. “We still minister in worship and praise and we still sing under the anointing of traditional gospel. We will never deny a true worship experience. That’s what kept us all this time. Just please don’t look down on us when we try to be fishers of the average man so he may then join all of us in true worship”!
