i read a good quote from albert einstein on chris renegade's page, "he who joyfully marches to music in rank and file has already earned my contempt. he has been given a large brain by mistake, since for him the spinal cord would fully suffice." i don't think albert meant this literally, he was just trying to be funny. i know what he means but discerning musos can be equally annoying. anything you can dance about like a loon to gets my respect.
for me a hero is someone who fights the powers that be, for a good reason, and challenges the prevailing orthodoxy, usually with tragic consequences. its too easy to overstate people as being heroes, but these are some people i dig; lee sharpe (for scoring 4 against arsenal, not love island), john mcenroe (just a cool guy. never saw him play pingpong or nothing), shaun ryder, nelson mandela (legend, if an obvious choice), f scott fitzgerald, alfred hitchcock, bruce lee, mark foo, elvis, ali, faye dunaway as vicki anderson (not a real person but i'm not thinking too hard about this), debbie harry.
